which would be the best..??

ok…
im thinking either my 5 gallon tank with the K3LA horns

or an 8 1/2 gallon tank with the K5 horns

which would be the loudest…? and sound the best…?

and can i run them at 175 psi ? instead of 150.

look forward to your replys…

K5s will be louder but both sound awesome. I would do 8.5gal tank eitherway and I just found out from one of my newly made train mechanic friends that most trains run them 125-140psi instead of the 200-225psi everybody claims that trains use.

^ Correct on the horns, tank, and psi. I much prefer the sound the sound of the k5la. I would use no less than 1/2" ID air line to it though. I run a 110/145 switch, and mine sound great at that pressure. I just need more tank volume.

thanks for the replys…

is a k3 the same horns as a k5 but just less 2 horns…?

because if it is im thinking i could add the other 2 at a later date if i have enough room…

^ That is what I done! A k5la is a k3la + 3a + 5, and a different manifold. I love the k5!

The K3 is louder than the K5.

^ I have had both, and if you supply that k5 with enough air, it is louder.

I agree as well, beings in the same bells plus 2more. If you have volume they will be louder, we have a 60gal tank in our shop and I test them at 135psi with 3/4" hose and they are both loud but the two extra bells on the k5 really excel over the k3. I have a k5hl, k5la and just bought a couple k3s.
