Hi I’m new to the site and had some questions about winter care and stuff i have some Kleinn Hk7s and was wondering what i should do with my air lines and stuff cause I’m in Wisconsin and it gets cold i have a cap on the bed where the tank and compressor are and have and en-closed little box around it in with some foam to keep it warm and a quick drain plug. so should i put a little air line anti freeze in the line just to be safe?
As long as you purge the tank through the drain, you shouldn’t need to worry about using antifreeze. The folks that use antifreeze usually don’t have a drain hooked up or accessible, so they can’t get rid of the water in their tank.
Hmm - I wonder how you drain out that frozen water???
Simple - drain it often so it doesn’t have a chance to freeze. My setup has a solenoid on the drain valve, and I just hit the button for a second every so often. Heck even weekly would be enough in the winter because the outside air is dry and the compressor won’t be condensing much moisture.
