wireing problem

I have everything hooked up, but when I flip the toggle to on, the stock horn comes on and stays on til I flip it to off. I have the black from the valve grounded, the red runs inside the cab to one side of the toggle. I spiced in the other side of the toggle into the horn wire. I know some how the horn is being grounded and thats why its going off, but I don’t know how to fix it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

well normally the wire which comes from your steering wheel (horn button) is a ground pushbutton, then a relay converts the negative input to positive output.
So you basically have two choices:

  1. Remove the valve ground and connect it to positive leaving the toggle wires as they are.

  2. Remove the wire from the steering wheel and find the stock horn relay, so you can connect it to its positive output.

Choose just one of these options, NOT both.
In my car i used a rocker switch to decide which horn to use, to do that i had to split the wire coming from the steering wheel.
Since i used a dual pole switch on the other side of the same switch i ran a positive signal so i can light a led inside the dash so i know when train horn is activated.
