So earlier today my computer worked fine as usual on wireless internet… Now tonight its playing all kinds of games not wanting to find signal , then finding wireless signal but not connecting!!.. So i need help fixing this damn thing… I alllready called up time warner and they said there side is fine , and all equipment checks out good except for the modem is running to high or something… He said something along the lines that there is interference in the line , outside and the modem boosts its power up to compensate for it and its running at max levels???
Now the only thing that i can think that is interfering is the new remote start / alarm i got installed today . Sounds stupid that it could interfere but it is a 2 way remote unit … sends pages to key fob… The time warner cable tech said that it is only 900 mhz tho and the wireless signal is much higher so it should not interfere…
Anyone experience this? or hear of it…
Right now i have a ethernet cable going directly from laptop to wireless modem and it works great… actually faster than if i was on wireless… but my dads laptop wont connect in other room… Any help would be great !
one time my antivirus/spyware software became corrupt and banned me from internet use. can you get on the internet in safe mode? If you can, then that may be the problem. just uninstall and re install it. If thats not the case, I have nothing lol
Just tried to go into safe mode and it didnt work there either… Im really thinking its this new alarm… That would suck! That means i would have to try and find a wireless router that wont interfere with signal…

There side works fine… im on it right now , its gotta be my computer , or the wireless router , or the alarm messing it up… i think
have a guy come out to your house tho. they can usually fix it. or if you think its your truck. try it when your truck is gone as in not home or somewhere along those lines?
yea i will try that tommorow… No one else is awake to try the computer while i drive away now so it will wait till tommroow… just now trying to seee if i can change channel on router …
its not your alarm i also have the 2 way pager alarm. Sounds either like twist said a virus or spyware. I would also reset your router or reinstall the driver on the router. Sounds to me like a computer issue, id try a laptop or iphone or whichever wifi device you have and try to connect it
Well i was trying to connect the whole time with 2 diff. laptops… the signal just would not go…
I finally found out how to change the channel on the router and it now works!
I seriously think it was the 2 way alarm… this morn my truck was getting it installed adn i was online all morn… then today i got home , came in house and internet no go… I think it must have crossed interference with the signal. oh well , all good now! thanx all for help
Brizz , which alarm do u have? I just got the compustar, 2W900FM… added proximity sensor , and battery backup siren to! Also one of those ear splitting pizo sirens for inside that hurt!
Is it a viper? Cause thats what i have in my car. and it works just fine for me. Oh is there anyway to hook up my horns to the alarm so i can just honk it without the alarm sounding?
for instance i jsut added a setg of psychoblasters to my truck, now im gonna have the guys that installed the alarm hook up the aux button , or trunk release to the horn,
I originally was gonna get the viper 2 way , i think it was the 5900, but the guy at the shop advised me against itg saying they install a decent amount of em and get them back always from circuit boards going bad , or range probs… so i went with the compustar… im loving it . 3000 ft range, 2 way , lcd remote , proximity sensor , battery backup siren , ear piercing interior siren that you cant be by w/o hurting…
