WOLO horns: any good?? Direct Drive: good??

as an unemployed student i would like some train horns for my truck but dont have a ton of money, I found a kit of WOLO model 843 orient express DD3 train horns for reasonably cheap. I was gona get a viair compressor and tank and all that stuff but im low on funds. I like the sound of these but im not very familiar with the direct drive compressors, are they any good?

Thats the main question i have, I just dont know if the DD compressor will work good, if it puts out enough PSI, or will last long.

I cant afford a onboard air supply so this is my only option for air horns, Id really appreciate it if anybody can help me out.

Thanks,
Randy

I don’t think you’d be happy with it… think of a dixie horn, it’ll be high pitched and corny… save up for a Hornblaster Shocker kit… it’s on an entirely different level. They are literally da bomb. A sound bomb of bass and train hornage, so I’d wait.

Save for good horns, and u wont regret wasting $.

they dont sound real high pitched, these are the ones im looking at. and you can hear it on there site under orient express DD

The bassiest of the horns you hear in this vid are the Hornblasters Shockers (B.u.e.l.l. Air Horns). Trust me, save up for them! Or a genuine train horn.

A while back I watched a bunch of youtube videos of wolo horns.
I’m sure there are different models, but they all sounded like fairly loud stock horns.
