is it a dual 2 or dual 4 ohm ? and is your amp stable to 1 or 2 ohms? how did you wire the voice coils and is the amp a mono block? sounds like you wired it wrong…
not its the q
my amp is a zx550.3 kicker and the sub is a 12" kicker solobaric L5. Thats pretty much all I know
so you have a 3 channel
ur rcas are going to go into sub input
u have to determine ur ohmage on ur speaker…then you can figure out how to wire them
u can put some componets to this amp to if u have any
Please excuse my total ignorance but I have no idea what you mean.
How do I figure out the ohmage on my speaker? Geez I wish I had my video camera cause I could take a vid to show you. Plz explain? Sry about my total lack of knowledge. Or maybe post a link explaining it?
do u have a digital multi meter …if so put it on the setting 200’s.
then connect the tips to a red terminal and a black terminal… do not move the SUB!!! see what the numbers say… 2 4 6 8?
It is like 4.2 to be exact, so I’d say four
yA… now how many posts are the on the sub… just 2? or 4?
two for the subs, and four for the mids and highs (says my brother)
basically how many red and black posts… if there are only 2 which im not sure if that right then its a single 4 ohm speaker… if there are 2 red and 2 black which means four…then the speaker is dual 4 ohm
Ohhhh hold on a second…the sub has four “posts”. The box, however, only has two. Is this significant!!!
I think I might have found the problem. The sub had four ports (for lack of the correct term) and my brother only wired two of those four ports :o. I hope I didn’t damage it. well its midnight here and I should have it working soon. I’ll let you know.
ok its working now. I’m gonna keep the sub powered up the way to work tmrw and hopefully it won’t mess up again.
make sure u wired it up right
X2 … make sure its wired to the correct ohm that your amp can handle
oh and thats $199 in online suppport ill send u a bill:D
Hahahahahahaha poor old Trippy, He does make me chuckle, bless him… always in a pickle!!! lol lol:D
yupp…well its hitting now without the protection turning on. I brought it to an audio shop and they tweaked the amp so itll hit as loud as possible without protection turning on. Still kinda pissed tho…it should still be louder.
I once totally mashed an engine, I had the music so loud I could not hear the big ends mashing up!!! Had I heard it sooner I would have caused less damage! the engine had to be scrapped!!!
