Nice set up man. Love the step button I want to install one of those on my truck. Looks like your doin nothing when your blastin people.
i like the dtep button, where did you get it?
eBay :). 10 bucks.
"LINEMASTER SPDT MOMENTARY FOOTSWITCH # COMPACT 491-S "
I only put the step button in because I REALLY didn’t want to drill any holes in my new truck… Not to mention that I don’t have time to take my hand off the steering wheel to hit a button when someone abruptly does something stupid on the road! :D.
I just need to insert a relay so my compressor goes off when I turn my truck off. I don’t think that is too hard, but I’ve never done it before.
Finished!
Looks good bro!
Does the tonneau cover muffle the sound of the k3?
No, I don’t think it does. I gotta experiment more though.
It’s the loudest ever when it’s at 150 psi… I can’t tell you how shocking it is… I don’t think the cover will muffle it that much… It’s a soft cover by the way.
wow thats a nice
set up man. ones i get my K3LA
sum time i am
gona run both S4
SHOCKERS and K3
lol nice honk them
bad boys for me
sum time lol
Nice. You had the shockers BEFORE right? The K3 is just an add on?
Will you need a rubber grommet where the air ine goes through the sheet metal?
Are you afraid of water getting into the compressor intake? I noticed it was underneath the truck/
Yes, I did wildhorn.
I started out with the shockers and then realized the 1 gallon tank/compressor combo I had wasn’t enough… So I went to 4 gallons, as well as buying the 1/2" shocker upgrade. I basically took all the horns off the vehicle as well as my tank/compressor combo. I sold the tank/compressor and then remounted the horns. As soon as I decided to get 4 gallons of air, I knew I could then buy a real train horn and was too damn tempted to do it… So I bought one! :).
I’m not worried about the the hose going through the sheet metal. I put RTV gasket maker on both sides of the hole before and after I put the hose through. The hose doesn’t move at all anyway. It’s VERY snug.
I haven’t had a problem with the water going into the compressor, but I have plenty of hose to move the air intake to the engine compartment. Thanks for reminding me!
Update:
You guys are gonna kill me… I’m redoing my install again (only on K3). I put the K3 under where the spare tire goes… I’m going to put a 8.5 gallon tank in my truck box.
I’ll post pictures when I get a chance!
Here’s a teaser picture -

What do you like better the K3 or shockers? Which sounds better?
C’mon now.
Looks good. Glad to see the got it all done. Nice Job.
Well, I still have to unmount my current 2 gallon tanks, but that’s easy ;). Thank God, I’m not moving my shockers… I’m only moving the solenoid valve from the bed to next to the K3, installing a 8.5 tank into my truck box, and moving the compressor to the truck box too.
I’m going to add a brass 1/4" purge valve instead of having a drain cock. I’ll mount a switch under my steering wheel to drain the tank for moisture.
That’s all I’m really doing…
I love the K3 so much… It sounds beautiful. The shockers are very deep in tone… They sound kick oven, but the chord isn’t as nice.
Any updates on the photos? Nice job so far.
Give me another week. I just took my current tanks off and sold them on the forum. I’ll be able to get started on finishing up the current install :).
Sounds good. I’ve posted your install photos on HornBlasters.com

Can’t wait to see the new ones.
That install was already taken off. I’ll update everything when this new install is done.
2 gallons and then 4 gallons just wasn’t cutting it
As promised… I will upload the rest of my install pictures with videos… I just finished a few minutes ago!
I just tried my horns out and MAN, do I LOVE them. 8.5 Gallons all the way!
Special thanks to everyone who helped me!
