the obligatory big white box has arrived. :D:D:D:D
can’t wait for the weekend so I can install it.

Shockers?
yep.
even if I wasn’t sure where I could mount it, I still bought it. I though if Ripcord could fit a set in his smart car, I should find a place to fit mine.
You got that right…
You will find a way, i have the shockers in my cobalt
Sweet
darn. spent the whole day trying to make it fit.
initial plan was to fit it under the car. 3 horns were mounted, one has nowhere to go. and I have no idea where to put the solenoid. -Fail.
round two: back by the muffler. made a rack and it might just work, and the solenoid is mounted nicely right beside the horns. I just need to fabricate strong steel brackets to hold the entire rack. hopefully this works…
don’t give up. you didn’t tell us on what ride you’re installing your shockers.
Rav4 should be full of room!!!
But since you almost solved your problem… keep it up!!!
well the second location I was planning has barely enough room. but it is right beside the muffler. I don’t know how the heat would affect the horns.
how close is close?
probably about a couple inches or so.
I’ll take a pic later this afternoon. still tired from overworking myself yesterday because I was so eager to get this fitted.
edit: if all else fails, I’m going to get a roof rack and mount all the horns on there.
here are the pics:
I just slapped them in there to have an idea how they will look. the horns will clear the pipe and muffler some more once the steel brackets are made.
just wondering if there will be some heat issues with the plastic horns.
their could be a issue if sitting in traffic, not moving i would think, that is pretty close xD
oh well. time will tell. I don’t have any other choice other than putting a roof rack and mounting them there.
or remove the spare tire at the tailgate and mount them in there inside the spare tire case. hmmm
I wonder if you could put a little heat shield right there?
Looking good though.
good idea!!! haven’t thought of that. I have a good source of thin aluminum sheet in my dad’s farm. would also serve to protect the horn incase the rack comes loose and the horn falls onto the hot tailpipe. (see pic above)
went to the farm this afternoon. bracket’s fabricated, just need to paint them tomorrow just to prevent rust, then install.
plumbing’s done so all I need to do is install the horns and wire the solenoid to the switch then we’re in business.
Wrap the exhaust pipe with header wrap. I did this years ago to keep my Shocker horns from being melted from the exhaust pipe. Never a single issue.
Looks like I will not be the only one whose got loud horns here in P.I. Looking good bro.
another good idea. I’ll get in contact with my friends that are into racing.
you’re still the loudest with your K3. I’m just second loudest.
