K3LA, 8.5 gallon tank, Chevy S10

i see no pics. lol

Viair says to mount their comps any way but upside down. Sideways is fine.

good  went to drill out the holes today…and ran into a little snag…had to drill out the diffuser bolts…someone didn’t put anti-seize on em…so i gotta go get 2 more allen heads…not a big deal…and i didn’t even mess up the threads

Ordered 480’s, tank, and fittings, buying the valve from the for sale thread, deciding wether I wanna use the stock horn with a toggle switch or a different button. Any sense in putting the conpressors on a toggle swtich?

so will 8 gauge wire be big enough to run from the battery to the relay? it says a 60A fuse is needed…im kinda confused…

So it’s dual 480’s with the dual relay pressure switch?
Each 480 draws 19 amps.
A single 8ga with 60 amp fuse sounds right for a distance up to ~20’.

If you want a toggle switch on your compressors, put it on the trigger wire going to the pressure switch. (Probably from a key-on source)

right…so i can cut my compressors off if need be for some reason (pressure switch screwing up). and the 8 gauge from the built in relays to each compressor…lol sorry jsut trying to make sure i got everything…im sure i wont…lol i wanna have a 3 way toggle switch to switch from train horn to stock horn. there’s a diagram here somewhere…

They’re in the gallery, maybe something wrong with your browser.

they are there now…they wasnt showin up then lol

No a single 8ga TO the dual relay. 10ga is plenty going FROM the dual relay to each compressor. If you want to fuse those separately use a 30 amp. The 60 amp fuse goes on the 8ga close to the battery.

ah i see…gotcha. do i have to fuse them?

Do you have the kit yet? It shows 2 relays and a separate pressure switch…

no, i ordered the 165-200 pressure switch with built in relays for ease of wiring…lol

ok I see.

Personally when I reduce wire size in a circuit I re-fuse it for the new smaller wire size.
The HB/Viair diagram doesn’t really show that so it’s up to you.

Really shouldn’t have to fuse it…nothin should short out unless a wire rubs…and I am gonna take care of that with some techflex:)

Whatever makes you comfortable.
I heart Techflex!

everything should be here by next weekend  gonna take the bed off my truck to get more space to work on it lol

Sounds good!
