I was just wondering if the scare factor was bigger with a k5la than a k3la becouse of the two extra bells or if they were about the same.
My buddy wants to buy a set for his truck and ive only heard a k3.
Is the k5 worth the extra money?

i like the k5 sound more and if you get 2 valves and put 2 lines to the k5 it will be way louder then the k3 would be

To the human ear, they’re the same loudness. I can’t tell a difference anyways. On paper, the K3 is louder, no matter what you do to the K5 (as far as more airline or whatever). The K5 might have a better scare factor due to the fact that it plays a higher note. The 2 extra bells don’t add more loudness, they just add more notes. The 2 extra bells also take away air from the other 3 bells making it not quite as loud…
k5la is louder then k3la by 1.5 db .this is right from nathan engineer.short and sweeeeeet.K5LA ALL THE WAY:cool:

like others have said i think the k3 is louder on paper but the k5 has a higher scare factor because of its higher notes.

I say k3 or p3 i love both my P3 has an awsome sound to it but to scare nothing will light someone up more than a K3
How about you prove that, bud? I have a graph direct from Nathan showing the different decibel levels. If you have it in writing from them, I’ll research it further but until then, the K3 is louder…
