new install started

Gonna do it slowly over next week or so. More pics to come

have not been able to work on system as it has been raining for days:mad:. Hopefully it will be nice tomorrow and i can get some work done.

well i was able to get most of the wiring done today, just a few wires to hook up and run the air line and mount the p3’s and she will be done.

Nice truck. I have the p3’s too, fvckin baddonkey!! My horns are on upfitter 1, and compressor is on upfitter 2… Are you ever on powerstroke.org?

Lookin good!
Electric valve or manual valve?

Damn auto correct- meant to Say badazz!!

ok got all the air line run to sollenoid, need to make a bracket for horns, tested system and it seems that the compressor is not shutting off, have a 165/200 HB switch but do not have a safety release and got sketched out because i thought the comp ran to long for size of tank. I think the tank is a 2.5 gallon but it could be a 5 gallon 4 port. How long should it take an OB2 to fill up these sizes of tanks up to 200. Oh and it is a SMC nickel valve. No leakes as far as i can tell

Neeeed pressure gauge…

Seems like my dual ob2s took over 6 minutes for ~9 gallons to 200 psi.

ok went and tested again and it took 7 mins to fill the tank to 200 and then shut off so i was just being cautios before i guess. Gonna get a gueage and safety release when i get my 8.5 gallon tank, another OB2 as well.

according to the performance chart it should only take 5 min 14 sec to fill a 5 gallon, maybe i do have a leak

I know I had leaks, but I think it took right around 6 1/2 minutes for my 9ish gallons.
And my alternator runs at 14.9v on 2 Kinetik batteries.

Comp has not kicked back on for a few hours but ill check again tomorrow for
leaks. Not sure what my alt was at but I was at idle
With 2 interstate batts

Haha I could hear my leaks and comps kicked on every 20-30 minutes. Fail!

well comps did not kick on this morning when i started the truck so i guess I am leak free

Got horns mounted but get a high pitched squeal and then horns
Sound, not sure but could it be a diaphram?

Sounds like the solenoid isn’t close enough to the horns. That’s what my was doing so I moved it closer and that solved it… Could be something else tho!

could be that the selonoid is under too much pressure, so what it does it it gets jammed for a second, then opens up fully

Sorta common with P3s.
Couple good posts in this thread about cleaning the diaphrams & whatnot:

My solenoid is less than5 feet from horn. Got the horns off eBay from tanersk 2 years ago but just installed them. They came with new diaphragms and painted. My dad has same ones and his are 5 years old and sound great, mine sound like poop. Gettn pissed lol.

It’s a 1/2 SMC nickel valve, with no horns on it it sounds like a lot of air comes out when I activate it? My squeal is real long, not a little chiff, I will try and take a vid of it and post it today? It sort of hisses then blows, according to micro precision site under p3 maintenance it could be bad diaphragm or scored seat, I hope when they were painted the seat was not f’d up where do i get gaskets and diaphragms
