I finally got around to installing my remote for my train horn i will say it was worth it i used one off amazon “link below” My truck did not come with power anything so i added this switch onto my existing button on my dash. I mounted it as high as i could up in my dash to get the best distance. This one was very easy to wire up. there were two ground cause it was a on/off not a momentary switch positive and negative. and finally the antenna. It came all labeled so it made it easy to install. the range on it is about 150ft with a heavy woods in the way and i could get a maximum of about 200ft if i put to my head:p lol. After this I’m probably going to upgrade it in the future with a 4 channel for the compressor and a second solenoid.
I am waiting to upgrade my remote with one coming out from Kleinn. They are claiming up to 650 ft. But they are still working on it and has not been released yet.
I have kleinn horns and i messaged them about a year ago when they where going to release it and they said they stoped development of it to work on there bolt on kits so i just did my own. But if they do make one 650ft id buy it
There are a few places that have it “for sale” But it still has not been released yet. So they don’t have it to ship to you.
This is the answer I got back in May:
Hello Dave ,
We are working with the electronic manufacturer trying to extend the range of the Sniper. At this time, we’re looking at another 60-90 days until this product is available for retail sale – although it could be less.
Thank you,

Well my first remote died, it fried itself open so i took it off and went a different route and got this one off amazon reviews seemed nice and i could use both channels one for the each horn. my first remote only worked to about 200ft and this past Friday night i tested my new one and i got a range of about 650ft a little bit over 1/10 of a mile on a strait road with the antenna up in the dash. So im surprised it worked so well and i hope this one lasts
copes very well with interference its on 315mhz and I have tried to set it off with other remotes set to 315mhz and they have not set them off. the remotes are learned to the chip on the board “asked the company” so you would have to have on the original two remotes to control it. So that no random people set it off:D. its very close to Stinkypetes remote just different maker
315hz is pretty safe, I have never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever had the Horns go off by an outside influence.
I just took possession of another 10 remotes:)
Too much beer has the opposite effect!! I normally roll out the pub steaming drunk, look everywhere for the car & twenty mins later I remember I took a cab to the pub! Lol
Anddddddddddddddddddd I don’t actually believe it, but I tried it with the smart car today, sometimes you have to be standing next to the car for it to work, but walked about 30ft from the car before it stopped working, I then walked a further 30ft from the car & put the key to my head & pushed the button, it bloody worked every time I put the key to my head… Amazed & slightly shocked I turned & stared walking away & noticed two workmen eating their lunch in their van, both were looking at me as if I had gone stark raving mad!!:D:D:D
I always said you needed those keyfobs with the sliding flap pete:rolleyes:.
So I’m the only one who’s gonna be using his phone+app and a special 4G wifi receiver:confused: I’ll share it with you guys :(, if it actually works (Chinese products can be, sketchy afterall). If not then I’m using a 1.5mile pager system.
Genuine train horn sound are always loud and deep. Kleinn 500 Series horns have reversible trumpets provides realistic multi-directional effect. 16?, 14?, and 11?. I have checked one of them here:
Can be done on both under-body or rooftop mounting.
