Ok… I thought I would put you all out of your misery and show you a little teaser of wot to expect… Its taken me 5 days, almost 200m of cabling:eek:, nearly £300 in materials and I’m still about three days from totally finishing it.
Now I have to say this it all looks really twinkly, but this happen a little bit by accident, the bottom of the truck is glossed black with ridges which makes it look like there are LEDs all over the bed of the truck…
I have yet to install the Chrome Hornblaster stickers and also trimmings which I hope is going to finish this install off nicely… I’m nervous about it looking how I want it to be! Its a little bit different to my last install.
I’m not on here much recently because it seems every working hour I’m on the truck…
Anyway, if ya dont like it…thats your opinion and I respect that…but remember this is still only 60% finished!
Look carefully and you can just make my little K3’s…yet to be illuminated!!!
Yeah Sphinxy, the last build on my old car woz about 3 days or so, this has been 5 days up to now. The accoustic carpet came today but its hissing down wiv rain outside so I cannot do anything this evening. Also I have some stuff arriving on friday which I just had to have laser cut, but should transform the build… oh and check this out…

Oh. man you are killing it. You should put an actuator on that cover so you can pop it at a light, and as soon as someone tries to concentrate on whats inside like “what the…?” YOU BLOW IT!! Sounds wrong I know but with all the work you put in, your gotta be able to have a little fun.
Mate, its coming its coming… I trimmed the back out today and all I’m waiting on is some polished Chequer tread plate and my chrome & black Hornblasters stickers that I’ve ordered up to be made.

Wow man. All the time we have been waiting to see your install and I figured we would see a super polished horn, power lift bed cover, and maybe some chrome or high-gloss copper air line. Maybe even fancy wiring or a rotating turret for the horns so you can aim and direct the sound where needed. And so far all we get is a short, dark video that shows some blinking LEDs? I sure hope there is a lot more detail to be shared soon otherwise HB might have to request the return of the K3s on moral grounds. Can’t have a lame install giving HB a bad rap in the UK!
And what is up with the camping diversion? You nearly flew across the pond and hijacked the shipper’s plane to get your horns a few minutes sooner and then you dare to take breaks for work, sleep, and camping when you could be finishing this install? Big disappointment, man, you are letting us down!
Seriously, though, I think the LEDs lose their effect with the reflection off the high-gloss bed. Hope you plan to carpet it or get rid of the gloss. Of course we have to wait another 3 years to see it finished, what with all the camping, cookouts, dancing, singing, and loafing which must be higher priorities for you!
