Hey Erik,
First off, it’s not about what you eat mainly, but how much. Alot of individuals get overwhelmed and think their diet has to be perfect to lose weight. You aren’t trying to bodybuild or compete, you just want to be lean and healthy right?
To speed up your metabolism eat 6 small meals a day. Here is usually what my daily diet contains:
Morning: Around 9:20
Protein shake 1.5 scoops of 30g per serving
bowl of kellogs flakes with 1% milk
Egg whites (buy the container with it pre mixed, pour in a bowl and shove in the microwave) Fast and easy! TONS of lean quality protein!
I have a piece of wheat toast with this
12:00
Steak, handful of whole grain wheat thins
2:00
Can of tuna with relish and mayo
4:00 Chicken breast with handful of wheat thins
5:30-6
Right before I live I eat an ample, granola bar, and if I have the time a peanut butter sandwich.
7:00ish
Velveeta and cheese, and ground beef or chicken breast
8
Train
9:30-10
FEED AND REST
Protein shake with egg white mixxed
Another Chicken breast or some ground beef
11:30
Apple and peanut butter YUMMY and 2 glasses of milk
SLEEP!!! Its great to get about 8 hrs…I know not everyone can do this, but try. If you need to take a 20 or 30 min nap during the day…DO IT!
-Apples are great before working out, alot of natural sugar and no calories. It will get you in the mood. You don’t want to get tired in the middle, so even eating a piece of whole grain bread (crackers are good too WHOLE GRAIN) or having a little bit of whole grain pasta 20-30 mins before is good. They are slow acting carbs. Don’t get stuffed! Just be satisfied for fuel.
There is nothing wrong with carbs, if put to use, they convert to energy, IF NOT they turn to fat.
-After workout is one of the most important times to take in protein, the muscles are pumped and need their goodies! So take that time to ingest as much protein and fast acting carbs as you can!
Drink plenty of water!! This will keep your muscles full and ready to work. I drink over a gallon a day. It really flushes out any water retention caused by too much sodium as well.
If you are looking to lose weight, CARDIO. But incorporate your weight training as well. Building muscle with cardio will make your body destroy fat twice as fast. Remember, muslce burns fat! It feeds off of it!
Weight train 3-4 days a week. And do cardio after each session. There is nothing wrong with taking days off. If you overwork your body, you will quit. Take it easy, and listen to your body. If you are sore, then rest.
After workout drink a protein shake and wait 30 mins to have a full meal.
When you sleep at night is when you lose the most weight. We want the muscles to be working and feeding the whole time to burn more fat. SO drink 2 glasses of 1% milk before you sleep. It is FULL of Casein protein. This is time released. SO while you sleep, your muscles continuously are feeding.
I hope this helps man. Feel free to PM me with any other questions. Also, JeepKing666 trains pro bodybuilders! He knows way more than me and might even give you great advice if you PM him. He is a monster!
Good luck!
Garrett
Blimey… Thats the longest thing I’ve ever seen you write!!! Best you go have a lie down & rest!!! lol
Oh & Good luck with the diet Tri4ubb!

I was a personal trainer before Hornblasters.
Erik, just PM me or email me at Garrett@hornblasters.com if you have any questions or need some motivation. It’s alot to take in and can be very overwhelming.
But if you want it bad enough, then you can do it!
If you have gained 80 lbs in 8 months - you have something medically wrong with you. Don’t listen to anyone but your medical professional on this. Get to a doctor for a complete exam and blood workup.
not 8 month my bad it have been since i star with my new girlfriend like 1 year and 5 month…
awesome garrett thank you very much bro! it really helps i will contact you if i have any questions thanks alot!!!
Not to thread jack but Garrett. I eat quite a bit, and lift 4 to 5 days a week. trying to get bigger. 6’ 5" at 155 or so. I cant seem to gain weight. Like im gaining some muscle but I litterally have NO fat to work from lol. I think i have around 6 or 7% depending on the test … Is there any supplements or shakes that you suggest for a kid with a fast metabolism, no fat, and hard work ethic. Also what exercises get you bigger faster? Thanks
Tri, I found that boxing helped. I went from 190 to 165 (about) from boxing outside. I worked my a$$ off. i wasn’t trying to lose weight, either.
Don’t be afraid to sweat! The gym would keep their doors open, and it would make me sweat before I even started my training.
I’d say get an ipod and go running outside. Do it in the daytime if you can; its safer and you’ll sweat more
Ok. If you want to gain muscle and solid weight, intake 1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight a day.
You are what they call a “hard gainer” so what might come easier to me or others will be VERY difficult for you. But it can be done if you are determined.
Follow my daily plan that I posted. We don’t want you to get fat, but gain quality muscle. If you really want to get bigger then creatine can be beneficial. it puts water into your muscles.
It’s difficult to gain muscle, diet is a HUGE part of it. If you don’t have your diet intact, you are going nowhere fast. I’ve learned from personal experience. However, some people have great genetics and can eat shit and still look great. This isn’t the same for everyone. Every body is different, and what might work for one guy in the gym, might not work for you.
Mass training would be the following reps and sets:
4 sets per exercise: 1 set, 8 reps of moderate weight to warm up, then 3 sets of 5 reps of your heaviest weight. That means weight you can control the motion of, and don’t need a spotter to handle.
Make sure your form is perfect, watch videos on youtube. But if you are swinging weight, then drop it down a few lbs. More people watch idiots swinging 50lb dumbbells then a person correctly lifting 30lb dumbbells.
Categorize your training with one or 2 at the most, large muscle groups a day.
For example:
Day 1-Chest, abs
Day 2- Legs
Day 3- Back and bis
Day 4-Shoulders, tris
Whenever you need to rest, take it. I throw abs in at the end of the workout every other day. And do 15-30 mins of cardio after workouts every other day.
Hope this helps!
i swear alot bro alotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
this is the best thing you could ever know
hey garrett,
i could use some assistance
i’m really skinny and i could eat and train all i want… but do not gain any muscle or fat
size
i’m looking to get bigger more muscular , since some people consider me a joke … not really but as if i could do them no harm since i’m slim… while I have pretty strong muscles when i tense them in front of the mirror I look badass (still a little puny tho)… i have arm wrestled really big guys , they could not win
i’m looking into going to the gym to work out but can not find the motivation yet… I also don’t wanna be some dude who trains 3-4 days a week just to get some muscles
i’ve been looking into this guys videos. any good? :

Scooby is good. I have seen a couple.
Realistically, if you want to gain muscle, you have to eat and weight train frequently.
If you don’t eat frequently, then your body will eat your muslce. It’s a catabolic state. You want to be anabolic.
Thanks Garrett. You the man
