Dude, mine was a bit miffed about the coin I spent until she had someone gank her parking spot at Costco one day. She was ticked, then remembered I had the K3LA … which was about the time he got out of his car. She nailed it, he jumped so high he did a tap dance on the hood of his car, and she threw her hands up like “WTF are you doing?” at him.
So I’ve got to install my K5 this coming summer, and take the K3LA off my truck to put on her truck. Per her request!
Just wait … the first time she nails someone with your horns, she’s gonna love it.
LOL she know what the button will be is the only problem, kind of like asking her to pull my finger. My next problem is i really need her to help me do the install and she SAYS she is so ill that she is not going to help! I am hoping she will though lol. Here the horn is all painted up and reinstalled on the manifold. Does anyone know what the best size bolts to use in the base of the manifold, i have some 3/8’s but realized the holes are much bigger after i got the manifold home. THE REST OF THE PARTS WILL BE IN TODAY “YES”
Well guys I got my stuff in from horn blasters, All i can say is i am happy and depressed as well. Got everything but the pressure switch and my two relays!!! “THEY LEFT THEM OUT” so here is a little picture of what i have and i had to send them an email with a picture of the parts that were there. I just hope to have the parts before this weekend, i was hoping to blow my horn by sat…I have already installed all my brass fittings and even used liquid teflon on the ones that came pre tefloned. I know i can get relays at autozone, but does anyone know when i could get a pressure switch locally???
also something i dont quite understand, They sent 10 gauge wire for the compressors, but the fuse blocks they provided are only 12 gauge. Kind of retarded if you ask me as i am a controls tech and this does not add up. also the leads on the compressors are 12 gauge. so they could of sent 12 and it all matched but guess they didn’t want too. going to work on my angled sleeves tomorrow and try to get the horns mounted. i will post pictures if i get them mounted
Yeah they should make it right. They also sent me mismatched parts and I called them on it and they made it right. Just is very frustrating because then I had to wait longer. If you need the wire now, just go get 12 guage from the parts store.
Well on the wire issue i am going to get 2 10 gauge fuse blocks and just use the 10 gauge wire to the compressors, and let it downsize to 12 gauge at them, This will at least provide the full amperage they need without overheating or popping fuses. And i hope to speak with Nick today, I talked to someone else and they asked for those pictures you see about. Be here by friday please lololol. Thanks guys
i like the color you did your horns, looks real good man, i got an all white 07 sierra with k3’s, i would like to get what you have some day when i feel like forking out another 500 in a tank and compressor
well heres what i have so far guys. got them mounted under the toolbox and they are barely touching, My shims ended up being three washers, worked perfect if you ask me because they can only be removed if you remove the tool box. Also went and got some 10 gauge fuse blocks instead of the 12 and a few other quality items for the install. Also HB came through and the relays and pressure switch will be in friday. which will be perfect. I am installing it all friday, I may install the tank and regulator, and compressors tomorrow depending on when i get home. So tell me what yall think and also. How do these things drain water if they go into the bells??? i sprayed off the bed because i had dirt and mud everywhere.
LOL! I was messing with you. It will sound great coming out of the bed. However if you haven’t already. please consider some tamper proof nuts and bolts. So they don’t walk. Once again looks great and enjoy!
i have lock nuts on everything, hope this will hold. do you have any sound clips of yours in the bed??? Or do you mean get Stolen??? As for that they would have to unlock the tool box, get a large allen set to remove the tool box, and take out a few 5/16 screws. The horns cannot be slid out unless the whole toolbox is taken off and lifted up, trust me they are rather tight down there
Thanks for the complements, I plan on mounting the regulator, SMC valve, compressors, tanks and all lines today if I get off work early enough. Pictures to come. I just want to tell everyone thanks for all the help and opinions, If it was not for yall i would have went with the 5 gallon tank and single compressor and not been happy in the end.
Ok guys need a question answered. what do i do about the water in the horns from when i sprayed the bed out. They are filled up to the bell holes lol, Just blow it out or what.
Also here is how far i have gotten today! got everything done but the electrical, i am doing it all tomorrow. Sorry for the simplicity of the install but i like it. Everything is bolted down and feels good. I should have all electrical done before UPS gets here tomorrow and all i will need to do is install pressure switch and relays and let her eat.
